What is the perfect laptop for me?

I am going to college in the fall and am looking for the right laptop for ME!! Right now i have an inspiron 1525 and it certainly has not been exactly what i needed in the past. I will need a computer that can edit videos (with nothing less than Sony Vegas or Adobe Premiere). I already have a large external hardrive so that isn't a problem. I really need a computer that will last at least 4 years minimum (NO DELL PLEASE!) and i am completely against macs... If there any specific companys that might have the right laptop for me... (and is there any chance i could get a laptop like this for under 1,500 absolute max!!)
